For a while, after moving into my apartment, I had my earrings hanging on a small basket, frequently falling off and not displayed nearly as nice as I'd like them. I finally decided that I wanted to make a display for them that was lovely as well as functional and easily accessible. That's what led me to make my lacy earring frame that can sit nicely on my dresser and display my earrings.
All I had to do to make this display for my earrings, hair pins, and pendants was to buy a frame (I got this steal at a garage sale), take the protective glass out of it, and add lace instead of a picture. Of course, if you want the lace to actually stay, you have to somehow fasten it inside of the frame. I personally just took a piece of lace that was large enough to be pinched into the frame when the back of the frame was applied and then cut the excess lace off, which worked fine, but if you are handy with a staple gun or glue gun, fastening the lace in that way will give you some extra hold. I would advise fastening the lace in the very corners, so that it's hidden by the frame, but still helps to avoid your earrings pulling at the lace. After you've got your lace fastened and back applied, hang your lovely display on the wall or prop it up on a table or dresser and start showing off your beautiful jewelry!
